A classroom in a box — works without internet

Education that reaches the unreached.

We turn one donated laptop into a local host server. It runs LightBox — an offline AI homework helper, Khan Academy math, leveled reading, and quizzes — beamed to any nearby phone, tablet, or laptop. No signal. No data. No school required.

The problem

Hundreds of millions of children are locked out of learning.

Not because they can't learn — but because there's no school nearby, no teacher, no electricity, and no internet. The places that need education most are the hardest for it to reach.

How it works

One repurposed device. No internet. A whole curriculum.

01

We repurpose a device

A donated laptop or mini-PC becomes the host server. We wipe it, then load the full LightBox curriculum — videos, books, quizzes, and the AI helper. No internet required.

02

It hosts a local network

The box broadcasts its own Wi-Fi. Students connect from any nearby phone, tablet, or shared laptop and open LightBox in a browser — no SIM, no signal, no data plan.

03

Students learn; teachers track

Students work through math, reading, and quizzes at their own pace with an AI helper. Teachers and missionaries add profiles and watch each child's progress — all offline.

Inside LightBox

A whole learning ecosystem on one box.

Step through everything a single LightBox runs — fully offline. Click any module, or let it play.

Built for the learner — and the guide beside them.

This is the actual LightBox interface. Switch between what a student sees and what their teacher sees.

Get involved

We're just getting started. Help us light the first classrooms.

The fastest way to help today is a device or your time — not a check. Here's where you fit in.

A note on money

We don't accept financial donations yet. As a brand-new nonprofit, we're focused on devices, partners, and volunteers first. Funding to develop and expand the platform will open later.

01Start here

Donate a device

Send us a used laptop (2015 or newer). We wipe it, certify the erase, load LightBox, and deploy it to a community with no school nearby.

Partner with us

Companies and schools retiring devices in bulk, and missionaries bringing LightBox to the field — let's work together to reach more communities.

Volunteer your skills

Translators, educators, engineers, and field partners keep LightBox free and growing. Lend a few hours where it counts.
