Who we are

We think a classroom should be able to go anywhere.

?
The question that started it

How much of what a child actually needs to learn really depends on the internet?

The honest answer turned out to be surprisingly little — and that's the whole reason LightBox exists.

The problem

A classroom usually needs a lot just to exist.

A building, teachers, internet, steady power — and for hundreds of millions of kids, none of it is there. The usual fixes wait on infrastructure. A child who is ten right now can't.

What we made

So we asked a smaller question.

?
What if

What if everything a student needs to learn could fit inside a single box that runs on its own?

01

One donated laptop

Rescued from a drawer instead of a landfill.

02

Wiped, loaded, tested

Full curriculum and an offline AI tutor on board.

03

A classroom in a backpack

Broadcasts its own Wi-Fi. Any phone or tablet connects.

Why we do it

A child's future shouldn't wait for a cable to reach them.

01

Geography isn't destiny.

Where a child is born shouldn't decide what they're allowed to learn.

02

Learning is the lever.

It moves everything after it — health, work, the choices they get to make.

03

Tools, not saviors.

We hand over the box and get out of the way. Students lead their own learning.

The team

The people behind LightBox.
